Reduction of Beta-Waves in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis

The therapy program was composed of 4 therapeutic blocks of 6 days each. In these 6 days the patients were treated with 19 different compositions of Medical Resonance Therapy Music® in a specific sequence.

Three treatments per day were given individually in the room (morning, noon, and evening) and two treatments per day in the group (before lunch and afternoon) Therapy time per day was 4-5 hours. The whole program of 4 blocks was taken by 3 MS-patients (Mr A, 41 years old, development of MS in attacks with partly remissions; Mrs B, 52 years old, slow chronically progressing form of MS; Mrs C, 36 years old, development of MS in attacks with partly remissions).

As clinical parameter EEG observations were recorded before starting with the treatment, after 2 and after 4 therapy blocks. These recordings documented a reduction of beta waves.

The results in detail:
    Mr A

    before starting with MRT-Music® treatment

EEG of basic alpha type, without indication of focus or spasm potentials

after 2 therapy blocks

EEG of basic alpha type, without indication of focus or spasm potentials, less beta waves

after 4 therapy blocks

EEG of basic alpha type, without indication of focus or spasm potentials, less beta waves

  Mrs B

    before starting with MRT-Music® treatment

EEG with mixed alpha-beta waves, strongly covered by muscular artifacts, without indication of focus or spasm potentials

after 2 therapy blocks

EEG with mixed alpha-beta waves, strongly covered by muscular and tremor artifacts, without indication of focus or spasm potentials, less beta waves

after 4 therapy blocks

EEG of alpha type, strongly covered by muscular and tremor artifacts, in comparison to measurement 2 a more speedy alpha rhythm

Mrs C

    before starting with MRT-Music® treatment

EEG: rich with beta waves, of basic alpha type, without indication of focus or spasm potentials

after 2 therapy blocks

EEG: rich with beta waves, of basic alpha type, without indication of focus or spasm potentials, less beta waves

after 4 therapy blocks

EEG: rich with beta waves, of basic alpha type, without indication of focus or spasm potentials, less beta waves

    Comment

The overall effect of the treatment with MRT-Music
® was judged by Dr. med. Mihr as well as by the patients so positive that Dr. med. Mihr became active to put the research at his hospital under the guidance of one of the most renowned EEG specialists in Germany, Prof. Gallhofer from the University of Giessen, who was also very interested to do this. But then, through the change of various organizational circumstances, it was not possible any more to accomplish this.

But Dr. med. Mihr presumes that a very diverse and detailed EEG observation of patients under treatment with MRT-Music
® with modern and sophisticated EEG technology would bring out many interesting features of MRT-Music
® helpful for the treatment of multiple sclerosis. Interested researchers are cordially invited to follow this up.
